This Song is dedicated to the great, late revolutionary Ivana Hoffmann, who died in Rojava last year fighting with the kurdish MLKP. She was raised in Duisburg, Germany, as the daughter of a german woman and a togolese man. She became involved with left-wing causes at the age of 13, joining the international NGO "Young Struggle", where she became active against capitalism, racism and sexism. She went to Rojava in 2015 to support the kurdish resistance in the conflict with ISIS under the battle-name of "Avaşin Tekoşin Güneş". Ivana was truly one of a kind, truly a person to look up to. Her death is the ultimate symbol for the marxist revolution, and the struggle of black people and LGBTQIs in Germany.
