On Church Building:

"In the book of John's Revelations, it is written the word of the new testament:
"Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,”[a] for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. 2 I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. 4 ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’[b] or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
5 He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”
6 He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life. 7 Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children." (Rvl 21 1-7)

Over the course of history this picture has often times influenced the image of eternal completeness. A visible symbol was church building: the paleochristian Basilika was understood as an image of heavenly Jerusalem, the church buildings of the justinian and byzantine world as a symbol of the cosmos, the baroque church buildings as heaven-halls. Bernard of Clairvaux quotes the heavenly things as model for the earthly." Willibrord Heckenbach (transl. Paul* Hermansen).

"...For the heavens are alike to the heaven-hall
in praise of the eternal lord, in holy communion.
in its' radiance of light alike to the god-city
which knows no evening
and keeps in its' lap the bodies of the dead

Church Building:
Noun 1. church building - a place for public (especially Christian) worship
Verb 2. the act of erecting a (predominantly christian) place of worship
Verb 3. the act of building a parish, a group of followers or a congregation.

Chronicles 25:6 New International Version (NIV):
"6 All these men were under the supervision of their father for the music of the temple of the Lord, with cymbals, lyres and harps, for the ministry at the house of God. Asaph, Jeduthun and Heman were under the supervision of the king."

Hebrews 6:3 New International Version (NIV):
"But Christ is faithful as the Son over God's house. And we are his house, if indeed we hold firmly to our confidence and the hope in which we glory."

The Gospel of Judas:
One day he was with his disciples in Judea. He found them sitting together practicing their piety. When he [came up to] his disciples 34 sitting together praying over the bread, [he] laughed.

The disciples said to him, "Master, why are you laughing at [our] prayer? What have we done? [This] is what's right."
